Peer Review Process

The Editor-in-Chief will assign each manuscript to the Managing Editor for initial assessment. The Managing Editor will then select at least two scientists to review the manuscript. HALAL Reviews employs a double-blind peer-review process, ensuring that the identities of both reviewers and authors are concealed throughout the review process to maintain academic integrity. Reviewers are provided with a specific review form to guide their evaluation.

The peer review process involves the following steps:

1. Manuscript Submission: Authors submit their manuscripts.
2. Initial Check and Selection: The Managing Editor and editorial team evaluate the manuscript for relevance and quality. They may choose to accept, reject, or proceed to review. Each manuscript undergoes a plagiarism check using Turnitin before advancing in the process.
3. Peer Review Process: The manuscript is reviewed by selected reviewers.
4. Decision Notification: Based on the reviewers' feedback, the editor informs the author of the manuscript's acceptance, required revisions, or rejection.
5. Paper Revision: Authors make revisions based on the reviewers' comments.
6. Submission of Revised Manuscript: Authors submit the revised manuscript, which undergoes a similar review process as the initial submission.
7. Final Decision: If the reviewers are satisfied with the revisions, the manuscript is accepted for publication.
8. Galley Proof and Publishing: The final manuscript is prepared for publication.

The first five steps constitute one round of the peer-review process. The editorial team considers the reviewers' feedback and decides on the manuscript's status. The possible outcomes are:

- Accepted as is: The manuscript is published without further changes.
- Accepted with Minor Revisions: The manuscript is accepted pending minor corrections, which the author must complete within a specified timeframe.
- Accepted with Major Revisions: The manuscript is accepted provided the authors make significant changes as suggested by the reviewers or editors, within a stipulated time.
- Resubmit (Conditional Rejection): The manuscript requires substantial changes, and the journal is open to reconsidering it in a future review round after revisions.
- Rejected: The manuscript will not be published or reconsidered, even if major revisions are made.
